Government and Community Affairs Manager

A state and local government affairs role focused primarily on California, connecting AI policy with policymakers, civic leaders, community organizations, educational institutions, workforce partners, and other stakeholders.

The role combines government affairs, policy analysis, advocacy, community partnerships, external engagement, and cross-functional work across OpenAI's Global Affairs, Legal, Communications, Partnerships, Product, and related teams.

2027 Horizon Fellowship

A fully funded pathway into U.S. emerging technology policy with placements at federal agencies, congressional offices, national laboratories, and think tanks. Fellows receive dedicated policy training, mentorship, introductions to potential host offices, and access to Horizon's public-service community.

Fellows and senior fellows serve an initial one-year placement with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Junior think tank fellows serve an initial six-month term with the possibility of renewal.

2027 base salaries are $78,000 for junior fellows, $130,000 for fellows, and $190,000+ for senior fellows. Fellows also receive a $17,000 annual benefits-equivalent stipend, access to a $3,000 professional development stipend, and up to $3,000 in relocation support when needed.

Government Relations and Political Engagement Specialist

A government relations role sitting at the intersection of public policy, political engagement, operations, and strategic stakeholder management at one of the largest advanced technology companies serving defense, civil, and national security missions.

The specialist supports federal government relations strategy, conducts policy and stakeholder research, prepares executive briefing materials and talking points, coordinates engagements around congressional hearings and executive testimony, and helps administer the company's Political Action Committee in coordination with Legal, Ethics, and Finance.
